Ways Back

Grief is not the ‘price’ of love
It is already an intimate part of loving.

Parts of ourselves that don’t rationalise
In tears, fall like seeds

Secreting themselves in the craggy face of the earth
Making stubborn pale roots in the dark
And waiting

Wanting nothing more than what already is.

Till the power to break stone,
Rips open the surface in tender green
