Cold fury
The unsettled scores
Of arrogant men…

You wept
Salt-laden photographs
Of what was
What might…

We live and move and breathe and have our being
Saturated in the sacred
Scarcely perceiving
That beat….

Each fibre
Spun and sticky
The unwary
Wrapped…

In the midst
Of White Russians and
Bloody Marys,
Screwballs and
Whisky sours…
